Wild Canyon Adventures in Cabo San Lucas: Zip-Lines, Bungee, Camels & UTVs

Nature & Adventure June 14, 2026 Arik Anderson 8 min read 334 views

Perched dramatically above a 100-meter desert canyon on the outskirts of Cabo San Lucas, Wild Canyon Adventures is the destination's most distinctive adrenaline park — and one of the most unique adventure venues in all of Mexico. This is not a beachside water park. This is cliff-edge zip-lining, free-fall bungee jumping, camel trekking, and UTV racing through arroyos, all set against a backdrop of dramatic Baja desert landscape with views that reach the Pacific.

Where Is Wild Canyon?

Wild Canyon is located approximately 8 kilometers from the Cabo San Lucas marina, on a clifftop site accessible by a short drive up a graded desert road. The park sits at roughly 300 meters elevation, offering panoramic views over the desert hills and, on clear days, the Pacific Ocean. OnlyCabo Tours provides round-trip transfer from any hotel in the corridor as part of our adventure package bookings.

The Activities: What Can You Do?

1. Zip-Line (Canopy Tour)

The zip-line circuit at Wild Canyon is the park's signature experience. Eight lines of varying length and height traverse the canyon, with the longest at over 600 meters and the highest sending riders 100 meters above the canyon floor. Groups are guided by certified instructors and the equipment is regularly inspected to international standards. The speed on the longest lines reaches approximately 80–90 km/h — fast enough to be genuinely thrilling, slow enough to take in the spectacular view.

Duration: Approximately 2–2.5 hours for the full circuit
Weight limit: 40–130 kg
Age minimum: 8 years (with parent signature under 18)
Difficulty: Moderate — no prior experience required

2. Bungee Jump

Wild Canyon's bungee jump is one of the few operational bungee jump sites in Mexico, and the setting — a platform cantilevered over the canyon edge — is genuinely dramatic. The jump is 60 meters, and both classic bungee (feet-first, harness to ankles) and swing bungee (seated harness with a horizontal swing arc) options are available. The swing version is less intense for those who are apprehensive about the traditional full inversion.

Duration: 15 minutes per jump
Weight limit: 45–120 kg
Age minimum: 12 years

3. Camel Safari

One of Wild Canyon's most surprising offerings is its camel trek. A small herd of dromedary camels is available for guided rides through the canyon landscape, offering a gentle and family-friendly alternative to the adrenaline activities. The camels are well-trained and attended by experienced handlers. The experience takes approximately 45 minutes and includes a walking trail with canyon views. Children as young as 4 can participate with a parent.

4. UTV Desert Tour

Wild Canyon's UTV (utility terrain vehicle) circuit runs through the arroyos and desert trails surrounding the park. Two-person side-by-side UTVs are available for guests who want to cover more ground at speed. The circuit includes canyon-edge viewpoints, dry riverbed crossings, and a stretch of open desert where driving is unrestricted. This is the dustiest activity at the park — closed-toe shoes and clothes you do not mind getting dirty are essential.

Duration: 45–90 minutes depending on circuit
Driver age minimum: 18 with valid license
Passenger minimum: Any age

5. Giant Swing

The giant swing is the most accessible thrill at Wild Canyon — a pendulum swing that arcs out over the canyon on a seated harness. Unlike the bungee, there is no free-fall component; the swing is pulled back and released to swing 50 meters out from the cliff edge at up to 120 km/h. It is a perfect middle ground between the camel ride and the bungee jump, and is extremely popular with guests who want a significant rush without full commitment to a jump.

What to Wear & Bring

Best Time to Visit Wild Canyon

Wild Canyon operates year-round, but the experience varies significantly by season. November through April offers the most comfortable conditions — clear skies, temperatures in the 22–28°C range, and low humidity. June through September brings heat (35–40°C midday), so morning bookings (9–11 AM) are strongly recommended. The park typically closes in severe weather, which can occur during September hurricane season.

How to Book

OnlyCabo Tours offers Wild Canyon packages that include round-trip hotel transfer, guide assistance, and your choice of activity combinations. Booking in advance is recommended — the park has limited daily capacity for bungee and zip-line, and popular time slots sell out, especially during spring break, Christmas, and holiday weekends. Frequently Asked Questions: Wild Canyon Adventures

Where is Wild Canyon located in Los Cabos?

Wild Canyon sits in the desert canyon system off the Tourist Corridor, between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, roughly 20 to 30 minutes from either town. Most activity bookings include hotel pickup, so you generally do not need your own transport.

How much does Wild Canyon cost?

Individual activities range from about $45 to $95 depending on which you choose, with the bungee jump and multi-activity packages at the higher end. Combination passes covering several activities work out cheaper per activity than booking them separately, which is worth doing if you plan to spend the day there.

Is the Wild Canyon bungee jump safe?

Yes. The operation uses certified equipment with redundant safety systems and trained operators, and it is one of the most established adventure operations in Los Cabos. As with any bungee, it is not suitable for anyone with heart conditions, back or neck problems, or during pregnancy, and there are weight limits at both ends.

What is the minimum age for Wild Canyon activities?

It varies by activity. The zip-line and camel safari generally accept children from around 6 years old, the giant swing and UTV tours have higher minimums, and the bungee jump is restricted to adults. Confirm the specific limits for your group when booking, since operators apply them strictly.

How long do you need at Wild Canyon?

A single activity takes about 1.5 to 2 hours including transfer. A combination package covering three or four activities fills roughly 4 to 5 hours, which makes it a comfortable half day. Add the transfer time and it is effectively a full outing.

What should you wear to Wild Canyon?

Closed-toe shoes are required for every activity — sandals will get you turned away. Wear clothes you do not mind getting dusty, bring sunglasses, sunscreen, and a bandana for the desert dust, and secure any camera with a strap. Loose items are not permitted on the zip-line or bungee.
